This year marks a special occasion for Saudi Arabia and Japan as the two nations celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relationship and to celebrate this commemorative year a number of events are planned in both nations that include the two events which took place here in Tokyo recently.
The 15th Saudi-Japan Business Council meeting took place at Hotel Okura on May 19th and was organized by The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) and Japan Cooperation Center for the Middles East (JCCME) in Tokyo. Over 200 participants included businessmen, officials and representatives from both Saudi and Japanese companies and they gathered to promote a wide range economic cooperation that included bilateral investment, technical transfer, trade and human resource development. On this occasion our Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Mohammed Al Humaidi also participated by delivering a presentation titled “Saudi Aramco localization programs”, providing an overview of numerous business and investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia.
Also taking part was Saudi Arabia General Investment Authority (SAGIA) which hosted an exhibition with the theme of “Invest Saudi” during May 19-20 at Hotel Okura. Major companies from Saudi Arabia including Saudi Aramco participated, giving information on business opportunities available in Saudi Arabia today to a large number of Japanese visitors to the exhibition.
